A portal on women, peace and security
Here it is one aim to provide information to encourage researchers, policy makers, analysts and NGOs so they can routinely include, seek and contribute more information and analysis on women, war and peace.
Some subjects are:
* Peace-building and conflict resolution initiatives
* Reconciliation mechanisms
* Increasing access to justice
* Access to support services
* Conflict monitoring systems
Women are relevant to negotiating peace agreements, planning refugee camps and peacekeeping operations and reconstructing war-torn societies.
Resolution 1325 (2000) holds out a promise to women across the globe that their rights will be protected and that barriers to their equal participation and full involvement in the maintenance and promotion of sustainable peace will be removed. We must uphold this promise. See the UN Security Council Documents
